The Competency Center will bring together the research and technology potential of SPbPU IAMT, SPbPU Computer-Aided Engineering Centre of Excellence (CompMechLab®) in the first place, and Baltico for the purpose of research and development as well as production of composite structures and their manufacturing technologies.
The MoU was signed by IAMT Director Andrey Falaleev on the part of SPbPU IAMT and by the owner and CEO of Baltico GmbH Dirk Büchler.
SPbPU IAMT and Baltico already have an experience of successful cooperation. A lightweight reticular composite panel for constructions of space solar batteries, jointly designed by them, was on display at the fair Innoprom-2016. It drew the attention of the guests, including Gleb Nikitin, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, and Mikhail Ivanov, Director of the Department of Machine Tool-Building and Investment Machine Building (photo on the left) as well as Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (photo on the right).
The results of the joint project in the area of development and application of advanced manufacturing technologies related to constructions made from carbon fiber composite materials were presented in May 2016 to Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia and Erwin Sellering, Minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at the business forum “Unternehmertag: Russland in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” (Russland Tag 2016).
