IAMT and Computer-Aided Engineering Centre of SpbPU Presented their Developments at the China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF)
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) delegation took part in the IV China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) on April 21-24, 2016.
CSITF is the best known international exhibition in China specialized in state-of-the-art technologies and engineering services demonstration. Over 900 science and technology companies and enterprises from 20 countries participated in the CSITF events in 2016.
Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (IAMT) and Computer-Aided Engineering Centre of Excellence (CompMechLab®) are SPbPU divisions having a unique experience in implementation of large-scale engineering projects ordered by leading hi-tech companies, key players on global markets; within the framework of the exhibition, they introduced best-in-class solutions designed and manufactured at IAMT of SPbPU under the concept of the Digital Factory.
SPbPU AIMT Digital Factory involves establishment and adjustment of the process and the production chain from research and planning, when the basic principles of the competitive good are developed, to product experimental prototype development.
In particular, such IAMT developments as a unique mount powertrain for the luxury vehicles and the family of aircraft metal brackets were demonstrated at the CSITF.

Main fields of cooperation were discussed between SPbPU representatives and their Chinese partners within the framework of CSITF business programme.
Prof., Dr. Alexey I. Borovkov, SPbPU Vice-rector, IAMT scientific director and the head of Computer-Aided Engineering Centre of Excellence spoke at the round table "The Representative Office of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Shanghai: new opportunities for cooperation" where representatives of Chinese universities, administration, clusters and enterprises participated. He proposed to develop joint task-oriented R&D laboratories and advanced manufacturing technologies development centres.
Prof. Alexey I. Borovkov pointed out, "If we join our competences, we will be able to resolve the tasks faster and more efficiently by means of various technologies combination that may provide the best solution".
Besides, the round table devoted to selection of advanced scientific projects to receive financial support from the Chinese side took place within the CSITF. IAMT's and EC's applications were also filed.
