The XII International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2015:  participation of Engineering Center (CompMechLab®) of SPbPU specialists in the exhibition and business events

Representatives of the Engineering Center “Center of Computer-Aided Engineering” (CompMechLab®) of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University participated in the XII International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS held on August 25-30, 2015. Engineering Center projects were represented at the SPbPU exhibition stand in the "University Science" pavilion, and at the JSC "Russian Space Systems" exhibition stand.

Specialists from the SPbPU Center of Computer-Aided Engineering have a unique experience of R&Ds for leading enterprises operating in the aerospace industry. CompMechLab® specialists participated in projects of such companies and corporations as Airbus, Boeing, UAK, Irkut Corporation, UEC, JSC "Klimov", RSC Energia,  etc. You may find some results of our work at our web-site fea.ru.

At MAKS 2015 CompMechLab® team was awarded with the Top Award Certificate in the "University Science" programme for the following works:

  • Development of methodology for multilevel analysis of composite structures in aerospace industry;
  • Development of methodology for multilevel finite element damage simulation of MC-21 aircraft fins under bird strike loads.

Besides, the head of the SPbPU Engineering Center Prof. Alexey Borovkov took part in the round table "High Technology Business and Technical Universities. The Energy of Partnership" held within the MAKS 2015 business programme. Organisers (NPO Saturn and  Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University named after  P.A.  Solovyov) proposed intellectual innovative "biathlon" as the form of the event. The first part consisted of Praesidium members’ reports on specific topics, and the second part was devoted to questions and answers. The audience evaluated reports’ and answers’ relevancy.   Prof. Alexey Borovkov gained the majority of points. Dmitry Ivanov, NPO Saturn Director for Innovative Development, awarded the diploma and the prize to the winner.
